What is Take 5ive ?
Take 5ive is a new journal from the Bamboo Hut featuring only 5 line tanka, gogyohka and gogyoshi.
If you have been reading/writing these verse forms you will already be acquainted with their format.
As far as this journal is concerned I will accept tanka in 5 lines whether it follows a 5-7-5-7-7, a s-l-s-l-l or a minimalist form. Similarly with gogyohka. The lines between the two are somewhat blurred. As far as gogyoshi is concerned I default to Taro Aizu's definition. In short, 5 lines only, any theme and give it a title. Simples !
